Physical Training (PT)

Getting ready physically is not just about running or working out. Here is my list of things to keep in mind when getting ready for BCT:

Physical
Medical
Fitness
Hydration
Nutrition
Setting habits that will become second nature later

All of these are inter-related.

First, physical:
My height is 64 inches. I have to be between 110 and 160 lbs (I am 130 now). I also have to be less than 26% body fat. (I am 24% now).
I have to be medically healthy. I have to get a crown on one of my teeth and I am short sighted. I hope I don't get BCGs (glasses), but I probably will.
Fitness:
Each month, I will try to do more in less time. Some of the exercises are for requirements, while others are to make sure I can make it through the day- to- day PT in BCT. The each month's PT is made up of these exercises:

Running not timed
1 Mile Timed
1.5 Miles Timed
3 Timed miles Timed
880 yd Sprint
Pull ups
High Knees
Scissor Lifts
Push ups
Jumping Jacks
Plyometric Jumps
Sit ups (2:00)
Amo Lift (2:00)
Plus stretches after and calisthenics before.
TIP: If you can find a PT buddy, take advantage of it. Having someone exercise with you is a huge moral boost and a little competition will motivate you to do better.
